Newman Apostolate Fund

The Newman Apostostolate Fund was created to support Newman Centers on the college campuses in the state of Illinois. At a time when a young persons faith is tested the most, Newman Centers provide a Catholic home to students to are away from their families for the first time.

Newman: A move in the right direction

The Newman Campus Ministry program plays an important role in keeping Christ in our young adults. The following paraphrased message from a Newman Center bulletin reveals how Newman Centers respond to the personal and religious needs of college students, both Catholic and non-Catholic.

At business class I learned how to earn money;
At the Newman Center we learn how to share it.

At management I learned how to allocate resources;
At the Newman Center we learn to be good stewards of the earth.

At anthropology I learned where humans come from;
At the Newman Center I learned where we're going.

At geography I learned to recognize borders;
At the Newman Center we are taught to see through them.

At history I read the perspective of the victors;
At the Newman Center we develop solidarity with the poor.

At computer science I learned to manipulate information;
At the Newman Center we learn to seek the truth.

At advertising I was taught to sell an idea;
At the Newman Center we are challenged to be honest.

At school I was taught to succeed;
At the Newman Center we are called to help those who fail.

At the Newman Center we learn to be Christ for one another.

The Illinois State Council has designated the Newman Campus Ministry Fund Appeal at our #1 charity. What better way for the Knights of Columbus to exemplify charity and encourage vocations to Church ministry than a monetary donation to assist in the continued operation of Newman Centers and Programs?
